Israel Alfonso, MD, is a pediatric neurologist in Miami, Florida. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology and in Clinical Neurophysiology. He currently serves as director of the clinical neurophysiology fellowship program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, Florida, and as Professor of Neurology at Florida International University. Dr. Alfonso completed medical school at the University of Zaragoza, Spain. He received his pediatric residency training at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital (formerly Miami Children’s Hospital) and completed a fellowship in pediatric neurology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. Dr. Alfonso has published and lectured extensively in neonatal seizures, brain monitoring, and birth-related brachial plexus injury.
